M. Regina "Reggie" Dawson

M. Regina “Reggie” Dawson, 99, of West Chester, PA passed away peacefully on July 25, 2026. Reggie is preceded in death by her husband of 32 years C. C. “Tim” Dawson, Jr, sister Mary Frances Gallagher, brother William Gallagher, sister-in-law Mary Gallagher, sister-in-law Elizabeth “Betsy” Sabatini Martelli, and her grandson, Pennsylvania State Police Corporal Timothy J. O’Connor, Jr. 

Reggie is survived by her children, Timothy D. Dawson (Christine), Maureen A. O’Connor, Bethanne D. Muth (Dawson “Rich”). Her grandchildren Casey O’Connor, Chris O’Connor (Brittany), Morgan Cosgrove (Steven), Dawson P. Muth (Sydney), Christopher G. Muth, Ryan Litchert and Stephanie Litchert. Her great grandchildren Christopher, Riley, and Kenzie. Her nieces Rosemary Gallagher, Beth A. Price, Lynn E. Frame, nephew Christopher T. Gallagher and countless cousins. 

Reggie was born at home on E. 15th Street in Chester, PA in 1927 to the late Daniel J. Gallagher and Rose A. (Rother) Gallagher. She and her family moved to West Chester in 1935 when she was eight years old and she always referred to West Chester as her hometown.

She was a 1945 graduate of St. Agnes High School. After high school she worked in Philadelphia for Philadelphia Insurance Company for a few years then joined the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) in their Wilmington field office. She married C. C. Tim Dawson, Jr. in 1956 at St. Agnes Church.

After leaving the CIA to start a family and raise her children she went on to work for Chester County GI group until she moved on to manage the medical office buildings on Marshall St across from Chester County Hospital, until she retired at the age of 78. 

Her most important job however was being a Nana to her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and anyone who needed a Nana. She loved nothing more than being Nana. Spending time with her grandchildren and attending their various events and activities. She cherished her breakfast and lunch dates at Penns Table, where her order was always the same; cream chipped beef on a Belgian waffle. 

She loved her trips to Cape May and Stone Harbor, her time in the afternoon chatting with her friends at the Mary Taylor House, and a good vanilla soft serve from Dairy Queen. 

Reggie was a devoted parishioner of St. Agnes for 91 years. She gave back to her community volunteering for Meals on Wheels for many years. 

Reggie has requested that those attending her funeral and viewing strictly refrain from wearing black. She would like her life to be celebrated the same way she lived it, in color. 

Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation on Friday July 31, 2026 from 9-10:45am at the St. Agnes Church 233 W. Gay Street West Chester, followed by her Funeral Mass at 11am. Interment will be at the St. Agnes Cemetery.
