Lydia L. Leo, 96, passed away Tuesday morning, May 19, 2026, at The Morningside at Towamencin in Lansdale, PA.
Lydia enjoyed a 66-year marriage to her late husband, Charles A. Leo.
She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia (James) Loman; sons Gregory and Jeffrey (Debbie); grandchildren Anthony, Nathaniel, Zachary, Simone, Robert, Jessica, and Corinne; and great-grandchildren Benjamin, Tuli, Raphael, Eilie, and Robbie.
Lydia graduated from St. Agnes High School, Class of 1948, and from St. Francis School of Nursing in 1951. She worked as a nurse at Memorial Hospital in West Chester and later worked at the Daily Local News.
She received a certificate in ornamental horticulture from Longwood Gardens, studied art history at the Barnes Foundation, and took enrichment classes through Widener University’s Lifelong Learning Program and did Bible study at St. Maximilian Kolbe. She served as a docent at the Delaware Art Museum and volunteered for Birthright of West Chester, a pregnancy counseling center.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her youngest son, Philip; her brothers Bud, John, Elmer and Norman; and her sisters Anne Young and Jean Mackey.
Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. at St. Agnes Church, 233 W. Gay St., West Chester, PA. Her funeral mass will follow at 10:00 a.m.
Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, West Chester, PA.
Lydia will be fondly remembered by all who knew her for her cheerful smile and twinkling blue eyes.
