Louise A. MacNamara

Louise A. MacNamara, 81 of Glen Mills, PA passed away Wednesday October 4, 2023 at Maris Grove in Glen Mills.

She was the wife of Thomas G. “Mac” MacNamara.

Born June 6, 1942 in Drexel Hill, PA she was the daughter of the late Byron W. Barrett and the late Ruth E. Holstein Barrett.

Louise grew up in Delaware County PA and graduated from Archbishop Prendergast High School in 1960.

She worked as a first-grade teacher for 40 years.  She taught at Don Guanella School (Springfield PA), Holy Cross School (Westbrook Park, PA) and Sacred Heart School (Havertown, PA).  The last 16 years of her teaching career were spent at St. Agnes School in West Chester, PA.

Louise was a member of St. Agnes Church and the “St. Agnes Retired Teachers’ Club”.

She enjoyed travel and spending time with her family. She was the biggest fan at her six grandchildren’s various activities and events.

In addition to her husband, Louise is survived by son, Michael B. MacNamara (wife Sharon) and daughter, Melissa M. Howe (husband Christopher) and her six grandchildren: Maura E. and Daniel T. MacNamara; Andrew L., Caitlin T., Matthew M., and Brendan J. Howe.

Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation on Thursday, October 12, 2023 from 9:00 am - 9:45 am at St. Agnes Church 233 W. Gay St. West Chester, PA 19380, followed by her Funeral Mass at 10:00 am.

Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery West Chester PA.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Agnes School 211 W Gay St, West Chester, PA 19380.
