Lillian Hart Hayes, 103 years old of West Chester, PA passed away Sunday, November 7th, 2021 at Park Lane at Bellingham in West Chester.
She was the wife of the late Frank Wesley Hayes.
Born June 23, 1918 in Cochranville, PA she was the daughter of the late G. Frank Hart and the late Hannah Wilson Hart.
Lillian grew up in Cochranville, PA and graduated from Cochranville High School (Class of 1935). She loved playing sports especially basketball. She also loved acting and singing in school plays. She went to Lancaster Nursing School. For a time she worked for the Montgomery Publishing Company in newspaper work. She was a member of the West Chester United Methodist Church and helped with weekly donations. She also participated in the Meals on Wheels Program.
Lillian greatly enjoyed her beach home in Stone Harbor and having family and friends visit her. She loved to cook! The more, the merrier! She also enjoyed sewing, knitting, gardening and was a great bridge player. At one time, she was in four bowling leagues in West Chester. She painted and wallpapered her homes herself.
Lillian was predeceased by her brother, William Hart, and a son, Ronald (Bucky) Hayes. She is survived by her son, Frank William Hayes (Sally) of West Chester, PA and also a daughter, Catherine Hayes Johnson (Walt) of Harleysville, PA. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Valerie, Ron, Wendy, Heidi, Drew, Wesley and Taylor, twelve great-grandchildren, Logan, Eddie, Chayce, Ryan, Kendra, Juliana, Adam, Angela, Ethan, Gavin, Noah, and Lillian and one great-great-granddaughter. She is also survived by her sister, Margaret Hart Williamson of Lincoln University, PA and her daughter-in-law Bonnie Hayes of Jupiter, FL and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Graveside Service on Thursday November 11th, 2021 at 10:30 am at Cochranville United Methodist Church Cemetery, Cochran Street and Burk Road, Cochranville, PA 19330.
