JUNE 9, 1932 TO October 30, 2025

Leon O. Anderson, Jr. husband of Paula Marchant Anderson, passed away on October 30, 2025.

Leon was born on North New Street in the borough of West Chester, (just down the street from where his Father was born and across the street from the old County Prison) to Leon Sr. and Bertha Mae Anderson.

When old enough, he joined the Boy Scouts and worked to become a member of the Order of The Arrow.

Leon attended the West Chester Area School District and left in a patriotic fervor when notified of one old friend was killed and another was captured during the Korean War. He enlisted in the Army and was a Paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne 325 AIR.

He was an avid reader and loved all types of music... but was partial to classical and jazz. He was involved in the construction business and became a Superintendent of Custom Houses for several builders and developers.

He retired from the USPS and was one of the original four veterans that started the Veterans Breakfast at the Exton Diner (now called the Bistro 24). He was the Chaplain of the 82nd Airborne Association in Philadelphia (Hadjack Mokan Chapter). He served on the Veterans Council at the Coatesville VA Hospital and was honored by the Four Chaplains of the Philadelphia Area.

Leon was predeceased by his first wife, Bessie Hicks Anderson, his parents and his two loving sisters. Doris Bond and Constance Bond.

In addition to his wife Paula, he is survived by five children - Clarence L. Anderson of Paoli; Karen A. Jennings (Illinois); Alan K. Anderson (Illinois), Lisa Anderson (Ohio) and Brindle L. Marchant (Yvette) (Exton) - six grandchildren and three great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, Sister in Laws, cousins and a host of friends.
