Lawrence B. Geldof

Lawrence B. Geldof, 74 of West Chester, PA passed away Monday September 30, 2024 at his home in West Chester.

He was the husband of Rosemary C. Murphy Geldof.

Born September 24, 1950 in Amityville, NY he was the son of the late Peter Geldof Jr. and the late Margaret Ann Beales Geldof.

Larry grew up in Wilmington, DE and graduated from Thomas McKean High School. He attended the University of Delaware.

He married the love of his life in 1981 and has lived in West Chester since.

Larry worked as a Groundskeeper for ChemLawn, the Holloway Family and Broad Run Golfer’s Club.

“Snoop” was a past Exalted Ruler and member of the West Chester Elks Lodge #853 and a member of the Fame Fire Company.

He enjoyed golfing, fishing, Lewes beach, Nascar, smoking ribs and reading anything about the Civil War. He was also a fan of the Philadelphia Flyers & Eagles.

If he was outside in nature, he was at his happiest. A family dinner and a glass of good red wine was never turned down.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Francis M. Geldof, stepmother, Evanelle Geldof, brother, David (Tiffany) Geldof, sister, Diane Giles, sister, Lisa Mulligan, sister-in-law, Mary Catherine Murphy, sister-in-law, Sister Frances Helen Murphy; niece, Kim Giles (Chris), nephew, Justin (Kelly) Geldof, niece, Jackie Capozzolo, niece, Jennifer Geldof, niece, Laura (Dave) Price, nephew, Corey Mulligan (Crystal), niece, Leigh Mulligan, nephew, Jesse Mulligan; and many loving great nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on Tuesday, October 8, 2024 from 10:00 am - 11:15 am at DellaVecchia, Reilly, Smith & Boyd Funeral Home, Inc. 410 North Church Street West Chester, PA 19380; followed by his Funeral Service at 11:30 am.

Interment will be private.
