Katherine Pappas Pakuris, 82 of West Chester, PA passed away Thursday January 23, 2025 at Merrill Gardens at West Chester.
She was the wife of the late Christopher John Pakuris.
Born February 27, 1942 in Philadelphia, PA she was the daughter of the late John T. Pappas and the late Elizabeth Karavassily Pappas.
Kathy grew up in Broomall, PA and graduated from Marple Newtown High School. She also attended West Chester University.
She worked at IBM for most of her life, starting as a secretary and working her way up to product planner.
Kathy was a member of St. Luke Greek Orthodox Church in Broomall, PA.
She lived in Charlotte, North Carolina and recently moved to West Chester, PA.
Kathy lived a life filled with joy, love and adventure. She enjoyed traveling and cruising with her husband, creating memories that brought them endless happiness. Her greatest love was her family, she treasured every moment spent with them. She also found joy in the company of her friends at Merrill Gardens in West Chester. She spent 20 years as a volunteer at The Laurels assisted living in North Carolina. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Kathy’s outgoing and optimistic personality lit up the room and made people happy. Through her work, volunteering, friendships, and being the matriarch of the family, she touched so many lives beyond what she could even imagine.
She is survived by her daughters, JoAnn (Michael) Graziano and Lisa Hambleton; granddaughter, Angela (Brett) Hunter, granddaughter, Julia (Joseph IV) DellaVecchia, granddaughter, Rebecca (Corey) Knapp, grandson, Christopher Hambleton, granddaughter, Jenna Hambleton; great-grandson, Joseph DellaVecchia V, great-grandson, Anthony Hunter; brother, Athan (Rosalind) Pappas, sister, Rodanthe (Philip) Ranieri, brother-in-law, Peter Pakuris and brother-in-law, Manny Topakas.
She was preceded in death by son-in-law, Mark Hambleton, sister-in-law, Carol Anne Topakas, nephew, Jason Ranieri, and great-nephew, Braydon Ranieri.
Relatives and friends are invited to her visitations on Sunday, February 2, 2025 from 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm at DellaVecchia, Reilly, Smith & Boyd Funeral Home, Inc. 410 North Church Street West Chester, PA 19380, and on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 from 10:00 am - 10:45 am at St. Luke Greek Orthodox Church; 35 N. Malin Road Broomall, PA 19008; followed by her Funeral Service at 11:00 am.
Interment will be in Fernwood Cemetery Lansdowne, PA.
