Karen A. Haws, age 77, of Cheyney, PA passed away peacefully at home on July 18, 2021.
She was the wife of Raymond D Haws, Sr.
Born in Pottstown, PA on February 5, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Edward T. Miller and the late Anna Demcisak Miller.
Karen was raised in Pottstown PA, where she attended Pottstown High School, Class of 1962, and was a majorette for the Trojans Marching Band. She lived and worked for a time in Washington, DC before returning to Pottstown, PA to take a position at the Pottstown Mercury.
She was a 40-year resident of Cheyney, PA and enjoyed a richly creative life, taking delight in experimenting with recipes, creating original art, arranging flowers and crafting. She took pride in becoming involved in the Williamson College of the Trades Ladies Auxiliary and passing on her art knowledge to her grandchildren.
Karen, a busy mother of six, was well known for her seemingly limitless capacity to expand her heart and home, caring for every person and creature, big or small, that came her way; especially her beloved porch cats.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Deserie (Maxwell) Ezekiel, James Maxwell, Raymond D. Haws, Jr., John Haws, Cornelia (Haws) Nowatnick, and Francis Haws; 12 grandchildren; five brothers and many nieces and nephews.
Karen was predeceased by a stepdaughter Elizabeth (Janie) Haws.
A Memorial Service will be announced at a later date.
