Judith Ann McVey Brooks

Judith Ann McVey Brooks, 78 years old of West Chester, PA passed away Friday October 8, 2021 at Chester County Hospital in West Chester.

Born March 5, 1943 in West Chester, PA Judith “Judy” was the daughter of the late Gilbert Wayne McVey and the late Lena May Poole McVey. She was one of five siblings with older brothers, Wayne McVey Sr. and Jerrold McVey, and younger sister and brother, Elizabeth McVey Jackson and George McVey.

She was the wife of Clair Brooks. The two were married in 1966 and celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary this past February.

Judy grew up in West Chester and graduated from West Chester High School. During her time in high school, she enjoyed playing field hockey and softball. Following high school, she continued her education with training to become a Radiology Technician. Judy worked as a Radiology Technician for 5 years. When her son, Stephen Wayne Brooks was born she then took time to raise her son. Judy later worked as a Mammography Technician at Chester County Hospital for 23 years.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church of West Chester and the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT). Judy enjoyed traveling, scrapbooking, and shopping, but her most favorite pastime was spending time with family and friends. She especially loved spoiling her granddaughters, Allison and Erin, and later her “grandson/granddog”, Chase.

Judy is survived by her husband, Clair Brooks; son, Stephen (Jennifer) Brooks; siblings, Elizabeth McVey Jackson and George (Nancy) McVey; and grandchildren Allison Brooks and Erin Brooks.

She was preceded in death by mother and father, Gilbert and Lena McVey and brothers Wayne McVey Sr. and Jerrold McVey.

Relatives and Friends are invited to her Memorial Service on Monday October 18, 2021 at 2:00 pm at West Chester United Methodist Church, 129 S. High St., West Chester, PA 19382.

Interment will be private.
