Joyce A. La Bar

Joyce A. La Bar, age 79, of Kennett Square, PA, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on March 15, 2015.

Born and raised in Pen Argyl, PA, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Elizabeth Honey.

She graduated from Pen Argyl High School where she was an honor student and cheerleader.

Joyce graduated from Moravian College, Bethlehem, PA in 1958 with a B.S. Degree in Biology followed by a M.Ed. Degree in Biology from West Chester University in 1972. 

She was a Biology teacher at Kennett High School for 35 years. She was an avid environmentalist and strongly supported equal rights for women. She enjoyed gardening and a good cup of tea while reading British mystery novels.

Joyce is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Dale; her daughter Soraya Goldstein and her husband Steven of Avondale, PA; sister Joan Condomitti and her husband Dominic of Easton, PA; sister Jean Hirko and her husband Edward of Easton, PA; nephew Dominic Condomitti; and nieces Dina Zayaitz, Erica Montes, and Chrissy Sysko.

Interment will be private.
