For family & friends of Jon Thir:
A beloved husband, dad, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend, Jonathan David Thir left this world unexpectedly, at 52 on Sunday, July 26. Jon was born on February 21, 1968, in Media, PA to Albert Thir and Suzanne DeAngelo. As a graduate of Great Valley High School, he went on to join the U.S. Navy as a rescue swimmer. After his military service, he built a thriving company, JDT Construction.
Jon married Maureen Thir, the love of his life, 21 years ago. He loved to spend time with his family and had an enormous passion for adventure and traveling. As a proud father, he spoke highly of his five beautiful children: Isabelle, Aliza, Wyatt, Ian, and Nathan aka X. Love radiated from Jon constantly. He was a Harley riding, powder chasing, snowboarding, flip flop wearing guy who lived life to the fullest. He had a talent for design and creating beautiful homes with unique pieces of furniture.
Jon was known for his adventurous, determined, and charismatic personality. He was a strong businessman and cared for others much like his family. One of his most notable traits was how he changed people’s lives. He was boundlessly generous, whether you were family or someone he had just met. He was known for giving ‘too much’ by others’ standards, but he was always so happy to give.
Jon was preceded in death by his brother, David Thir.
He is survived by far more than his family, his legacy will continue through all whose lives he has touched, both family and friends. Jon will be missed every single day and will have a place in our hearts forever.
A memorial service to celebrate Jon’s life will be held this Saturday, August 1, 2020 at 4:30 at the Thir Residence, 20 Keldon Court, Glenmore PA receiving time will start at 3pm. Please bring a chair & a mask!
