John “Pogo” Ogborn, 86 of West Chester, PA passed away Wednesday March 25, 2026 at his home in West Chester.
Born February 6, 1940 in West Chester, PA, he was the third child of the late Herbert Ogborn and the late Sainty Gara.
He was the husband of Joyanne Ogborn (Quillen) for 63 years.In addition to his wife, John is survived by his sons, John P. Ogborn, Jeffery P. Ogborn and Joseph P. Ogborn (Leigh) as well as 5 grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by his parents and his sister, Concetta Bannan and brother, William Ogborn.
John grew up in West Chester and graduated from West Chester High School in 1957. Following graduation, he served in the Navy.
He worked as an Electrician and member of IBEW Union and later as a Restauranteur owning Pogo’s and The Courtyard Inn in West Chester and New Garden Inn in Kennett Square.
John was a member of West Chester Golf & Country Club for 46 years, First West Chester Fire Company (Station 51) and The Elks Club. He was an avid reader, enjoyed spending time in Ocean City NJ and loved playing golf, watching golf, reading about golf…anything golf.
