John Joseph Donoghue

John Joseph Donoghue, 91 of West Chester, PA passed away on Monday April 26, 2021 peacefully at home.

He was the husband of Marjorie Ann Donoghue (Brophy).

Born February 23, 1930 in Philadelphia, PA he was the son of the late John A. Donoghue and the late Ellen Donoghue (O'Neill).

John grew up in his childhood home at 20 South 53rd street, Philadelphia, PA, went to West Catholic High School, Saint Joseph’s University where he earned his degree in Business and Drexel University where be obtained his Masters in Business Administration.

He served in the US Coast Guard and was stationed in Cape May, NJ – the same place (but not at the same time) he met his loving wife of 58 years.

John worked as a manager for General Electric for over 42 years and lived in Media, PA, Greenville, SC, Erie, PA, Wilmington, NC and Trumbull, CT before retiring to West Chester, PA.

He was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Church West Chester, PA and the Knights of Columbus.

John enjoyed fishing, boating, reading, Manhattans, Italian hoagies and most of all spending time with his big family.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters Anne and Patricia, sons John, Michael, Robert and Thomas, daughters-in-law Mary and Kadia, sons-in-law Sam and Bruce and grandchildren Jack, Kevin, Bridget, Catherine and Noelle.

He was preceded in death by his brothers Edward, William (Bill) and sister Mary.

Relatives and friends are invited to his Visitation on Saturday, May 1, 2021 from 10:00 am - 10:45 am at SS. Peter & Paul Church 1325 Boot Rd. West Chester, PA 19380, followed by his Funeral Mass at 11:00 am.

Interment will be in SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Springfield PA.
