John “Jack” Edward Jaenisch

John “Jack” Edward Jaenisch, 85, of West Chester, died at home, embraced by his family, on Monday, March 16, 2020.

Jack was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, he was a graduate of St. Thomas Military Academy in St. Paul and studied engineering at the University of Minnesota until he enlisted in the United States Naval Construction Battalion (Seabee) during the Korean War. Jack served in various engineering assignments in Kwajalein Atoll of the Marshall Islands, Guam, and Hawaii. 

Upon his return to the US, Jack graduated from the Milwaukee School of Engineering in Wisconsin.  Jack worked for Clifton Precision Products and Litton Industries before starting the Electronics Representative Company for which he presided over for 25 years. Later, Jack was a franchise owner of Techrep of San Diego for 10 years. Jack was a member of the Knights of Columbus and an active member of The Mission of San Juan Capistrano, San Juan Capistrano, California, and Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Pinehurst, North Carolina serving as an usher. 

In addition, Jack served on the Golf Committee for Radley Run Country Club of West Chester, Pennsylvania and served as the President of the Members Golf Association for the Pinehurst Golf Club in Pinehurst, North Carolina.

Jack is survived by his wife of 3 years, Ann B. Shaud and family, in West Chester.  He is predeceased by his first wife Sheila May Corcoran Jaenisch with whom he shared 58 years of marriage. Jack is also survived by daughters; Carolyn May Jaenisch and her husband, Steven Chestler, of Old Westbury, N.Y., Maureen Morgan, of Phoenixville, PA., and Bridget Telenko and her husband, John Telenko, of West Chester, PA., sons, John Jaenisch, of New York, N.Y., James Jaenisch and his wife, Kristen Jaenisch, of West Chester, PA. 

In addition, he is survived by 11 grandchildren: Matthew Morgan, Kathleen Morgan, Christopher Morgan, Gregory Chestler, Payton Jaenisch, John Jaenisch, Caitlin Chestler, Brynn Telenko, Karrine Jaenisch, Jordan Jaenisch, and May Telenko.

A memorial service will be held on Monday June 22, 2020 at 10:30am at the Sts. Peter’s and Paul Church, in West Chester, Pa.
