John F. "Hooter" Moran, Sr.

John F. “Hooter” Moran, Sr., 88 of West Chester, PA died Thursday April 22, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family.

He was the husband of Lucy R. Pirri Moran.

Born May 18, 1932 in West Chester, PA he was the son of the late Frank Moran and the late Mary Corcoran Moran.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, John F. Moran, Jr., Rosemarie Lucas, and her husband Tony, Francis R. Moran and grandchildren, Anthony and John.

“Hooter” graduated from St. Agnes High School in 1950 and was a lifelong resident of West Chester. He was employed at both the U.S. Post Office and the Chester County Court House.

“Hooter” was a wonderful, loving husband and father and his family meant the world to him.  From his years working in the borough, he was well-known by many and even in his retirement years would be seen walking through town.

He was an avid sports fan and spent many hours watching his Eagles, Phillies and Sixers as well as his beloved Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

Funeral Mass and interment will be held privately with family.
