John Edward Green II Obituary

Singer, songwriter, musician and producer, John Edward Green II passed away Friday May 14, 2021 at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown Pennsylvania. He was 58 years old.

Born October 22, 1962 in Chelsea, MA he was the son of the late John T. Green and Angeline C. Torchia Green and brother to 6 siblings. As a teenager Johnny, as he was known by friends and family, was an apprentice to his father’s electrical company, but his life was dedicated to writing, singing, and creating heartfelt music that touched the lives of many.

Johnny grew up in Maine where he graduated from Morse high school. He made many lifelong friends in school who still to this day praise his ability to light up a room with his genuine smile and touching music. As a young boy Johnny taught himself how to play guitar, among other instruments. He went on to be the lead singer and bandleader of several bands. In 2001, his song “Forget About The Blame,” was featured in the movie Shadow Glories.  This same song forged the relationship with the late Paul O’Neil of Trans-Siberian Orchestra and was featured twice on their album “Letters from the Labyrinth”, an album which debuted as #1 on the Billboard Rock Chart and #7 on the Billboard Top 200 Chart.

Johnny lived in Maine, Florida, New York and Pennsylvania and traveled to Europe, Africa, and India. Everywhere he went good people were drawn to his genuine personality. He welcomed people into his life and his home with open arms and a mug full of coffee; ready to talk your ear off, make you laugh, or just listen. Probably the most selfless and humble person you could find, Johnny helped so many people around the world no matter the personal sacrifice. His greatest acts of kindness were for his family.  From donating a kidney to his little brother, giving you strength in moments of despair, or pushing you to be a best person you could be, Johnny would drop everything at a moment’s notice and be there for you in times of need.

He is survived by his mother, Angeline C. Green, the mothers of his children N’Deye Fatou Green and Tina Green, his six daughters, Angie Kosa, Cathy and her husband Keith Thompson, Melissa and her husband Pritesh Nateshan, Fatima Green, Salima Green and Madina Green, sisters Pat Kimler. Nickie Harper and Carol Green, brothers Tony Green and Angelo Green. He is also survived by his 7 grand children Emily, Ian John, James, Ryan, Ayden, Malina and Rishaan.

He was preceded in death by his father John T. Green, brother Casey Green, niece Cody Green, and niece Erin Kimler.

Services and Interment will be private.
