Obituary

John B. (Jack) Jarrett, 85, of West Chester, PA, died September 20, 2025. He was the husband of Kathleen Byrnes Jarrett.

Born in West Chester, he was the son of the late Boyd E. Jarrett and Dorothy (Kreisher) Jarrett.

Jack graduated from West Chester High School, Class of 1957, and was a graduate of the American Institute of Banking. In 2004, he retired from First National Bank of Chester County as Vice President of Consumer Loans, after 23 years. At age 20, he owned and operated Jarrett's Gulf Station, South High Street, West Chester. He also owned Oak Beverage Company, Clifton Heights, and was a co-owner of Inter-County Bar and Restaurant Supply, in Edgemont.

He served in the U.S. Army and Pennsylvania National Guard.

Jack served as Exalted Ruler and treasurer of the West Chester Elks Lodge #853 and received their Past Officer of the Year award. He was a past Board member of the West Chester Golf & Country Club, the Salvation Army, Police Athletic League, and B.I.D. of West Chester. His other memberships included West Chester #322 F & AM of PA; 32"* degree mason of the Reading Lodge of Perfection; Rajah Shriners of Reading; a charter member of the Chester County Sports Hall of Fame; Knights of Columbus Home Association, and St. Anthony Lodge, Downingtown.

In addition to his wife Kathy, he is survived by a son, John B. (Judd) Jarrett, Jr. and his wife, Lynn Altemose, of Malvern and daughter, Alison Jarrett Patten and her husband, Christopher, of West Chester and grandchildren, Justin Jarrett and Lilly Jarrett and Ella Patten, Abby Patten and Nicholas Patten, as well as a sister, Judith A. Jarrett, of West Chester.

Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on Saturday, September 27, 2025 from 10:00 am - 10:45 am at DellaVecchia, Reilly, Smith & Boyd Funeral Home Inc., 410 N. Church St., West Chester, PA 19380 followed by his Funeral Service at 11:00 am.

Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, West Chester.
