John A. Mehok, 81 of West Chester, died Saturday March 30, 2024, at the Chester County Hospital in West Chester.
He was the husband of Patricia A. (Krivacic) Mehok with whom had shared 60 years of marriage.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Chris Hegarty (Brian), Sue Pollick, Mark Mehok (Carol), and Pam Alderson (Steve). He was also the proud “Poppie” or “Pop” to 12 grandchildren: Lauren, Jenna, Courtney, John, Madison, Mark, Kyle, Amber, Josh, Luke, Owen, and Sophie as well as 2 great grandchildren: Lia and Ava.
John was a family man and found the biggest joys watching his children and grandchildren grow into amazing adults. He loved it when the house was full, the pool was busy, and Mamma Mia was playing in the background. He welcomed all and all were always welcome.
John was a founding parishioner and past parish council member of the SS. Peter & Paul Church. In addition, he served as a member of the Board of Limited Jurisdiction of SS. Peter and Paul School. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, Pope John XXIII Council 5671 and was active in Exton Little League throughout his children’s lives. His most recent interests were playing golf and being an active member in the Sterling Oaks Community in Naples FL.
Born August 11, 1942, in Hammond, IN he was the son of the late John Mehok and the late Ann Greshin Mehok. He was preceded in death by his older brother, Joseph Mehok.
John was a 1960 graduate of George Rogers Clark High School in Hammond, IN and in 1962 graduated from the IBM Automation Program. He worked at Conrail (formerly the Pennsylvania Railroad) for 36 years and was fortunate to retire from the data processing center at 53 years old.
Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on Sunday, April 7, 2024 from 2-4pm at the DellaVecchia, Reilly, Smith & Boyd Funeral Home, Inc. 410 N. Church St. West Chester, PA 610-696-1181, www.DellaFH.com. His Funeral Mass will be on Monday, April 8, 2024 at 10am at the SS. Peter & Paul Church 1325 E. Boot Rd. West Chester PA (no morning viewing).
Interment will be in the St. Agnes Cemetery.
