John A. Barber Jr. (Jack), 80 of Malvern, PA passed away Monday February 2, 2026 at St. Martha Manor in Downingtown.
He was the husband of the late Doris Ellen Barber (McKinstry).
Born July 25, 1945 in Phoenixville, PA he was the son of the late John A. Barber and the late Ann M. Barber (Volko).
John grew up in Devault and graduated from Great Valley High School in 1964.
He worked as a Machinist, Technician and Developer for Continental Can, Graphic Packaging, Federal Mogul and Specialty Extrusions.
While at Federal Mogul John earned Patents for two new inventions, the Multi Branch Junction OverWrap and the Double Tube for use in the automotive and aerospace industry.
He enjoyed music his whole life, in the 1960’s he was a member of Joe and The Furies and recorded the single “Weasel” and B side “Broken Arrow”. John enjoyed spending time with family and loved ones. From traveling to the Jersey Shore and Cape Cod to attending grandchildren's activities. He especially enjoyed hosting Christmas Eve and simple family gatherings.
John is survived by his son, William T. Barber (spouse Kris Barber), daughter, Pamela M. Carter (spouse Thomas Carter), son, John A. Barber III (spouse Regan Barber) ; grandchildren Nicole Buchanan (spouse Chris Buchanan), Billy Barber, Ryan Carter, Corinne Barber and Brett Barber; sister, Eleanor Imrisik
He was preceded in death by his sister, Rita A. Morella
Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on Tuesday, February 10, 2026 from 10:00 am - 10:45 am at St. Patrick Church 104 Channing Ave Malvern, PA 19355, followed by his Funeral Mass at 11:00 am.
Interment will be private.
