John Waltz, 83, passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness on March 7, 2026. He was born in West Chester, PA on June 9, 1942. He was one of five children born to the late Henry N. Waltz and Olive D. Waltz. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Bonnie Waltz and his sister Sylvia Fuller. He was predeceased by his brothers Harvey Waltz and Ray Walt and his sister May Monaghan. Although he never had any children of his own, he and his wife supported and helped numerous students while they were teaching. He graduated from West Chester High School in 1960 and from West Chester State College in 1964. He had a lengthy teaching career in the West Chester Area School District and the Coatesville Area School District. John was longtime Mason in the Williamson Lodge in Downingtown, PA.
Johnny enjoyed collecting trains, tinkering in his barn, tending to his animals, raising buffalo, creating things by repurposing materials and working in his wood shop. In addition, he was a member of an antique car club. He took many trips to show his car and would see the local sites. Johnny enjoyed making many trips to Chincoteague, Virginia.
