John Sunwoo Kim

John Sunwoo Kim, 55 of West Chester, PA passed away Sunday August 17, 2025 at Massachusetts General Hospital.

He was the husband of Jennifer L. Kim (Mallon).

Born December 28, 1969 in Orange County, CA he was the son of Wayne Kim and the late Rosalie Kim.

John grew up in Los Angeles and moved to Georgia where he attended the University of Georgia and obtained his bachelors and masters degrees.

He worked as a Scientist for, most recently, The Gates Foundation, Teva, Baxter and Celltrion in Korea

He enjoyed golf, fishing and adventuress trips with family.

In addition to his wife and father, John is survived by his children, Rhys, Robyn, Nadia and Charlie; and brother, Charlie.

He was preceded in death by his mother Rosalie Kim

Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on Friday, August 29, 2025 from 10:00 am - 10:45 am at DellaVecchia, Reilly, Smith & Boyd Funeral Home, Inc. 410 North Church Street West Chester, PA 19380, followed by his Funeral Service at 11:00 am

Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the African Vaccine Manufacturer Accelerator (AVMA).
