Jessie R. Gincley, age of 97 of West Chester, PA passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2026 at her home.
She was married to the late Francis Aubrey Gincley until his death in 2013. They were married for 63 years.
Born March 7, 1929 in West Chester, PA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Marino and the late Julia Ferranto Marino. Jessie grew up in West Chester, graduated from West Chester High School, and raised her family in West Chester.
She dedicated many years as the secretary to the warden of the Chester County Prison. For nearly 50 years, she sold Avon products throughout the community. She was recognized over ten times for her work by receiving the Presidential Avon Award. Through her work, she made many connections and was well loved by her clients, coworkers, and neighbors.
Jessie was an active member of St. Maximillian Kolbe and ACAC Fitness and Wellness. She enjoyed trips to the beach, reading, tending to her rose garden, swimming with her family in her pool, decorating her Christmas tree, lemon meringue pie, and a good amaretto sour. Jessie will be remembered through her funny jokes, tales in the sunroom, resilience, strong will, thoughtful acts of kindness, and sneaking her great grandchildren ice cream by the pool regardless of time of day or parental objections.
She is survived by her children, Michele Porco of West Chester and Lisa Nichols of Parkesburg, her grandchildren, Jennifer Rose of Downingtown, Noelle Porco of West Chester, Jessica Porco of Aston, and Julya Nichols of Lancaster. She is also survived by six great grandchildren, Mckayla and Amelia Mullally, Nicholas and Zadie Rose, Charles Francis and Josephine Treacy. She was preceded in death by her son, Michael Gincley, her sisters Marie Pizzi and Albina Marino, and her brother Carmen Marino.
Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation on Tuesday, May 19, 2026 from 10:30 am - 11:15 am at DellaVecchia, Reilly, Smith & Boyd Funeral Home, Inc. (410 North Church Street, West Chester, PA 19380), followed by her Funeral Mass at 12:00 pm St. Maximilian Kolbe Church (15 East Pleasant Grove Rd., West Chester, PA 19382.)
Interment St. Agnes Cemetery (1050 Pottstown Pike West Chester, PA 19380)
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
