Jean Gabriel

Jean Gabriel, age 88, passed away on August 23, 2026, in Exton, PA.

Jean was born on July 22, 1938 in Wilmington, DE to the late George and Louise Somers.

She was the wife of the late William M. Gabriel, Sr., mother of William M. Gabriel, Jr. (Elizabeth), Sandra Gabriel, Karen Murdock (Paul), and grandmother of Jason Gabriel and William M. Gabriel, III.

Jean was a lifetime member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and member of the Questers of Delaware County. A devoted animal lover, Jean especially cherished all her beloved Bassett Hounds: Daisy Mae, Brandy, Hercules and Maggie Mae. She was an avid gardener, enjoyed traveling, socializing and playing Parcheesi. Jean had been a long-time Flyers fan from the time of the Broad Street Bullies and enjoyed the beach, especially Cape May.

A private graveside service will be held in Valley Forge National Park next to Washington Memorial Chapel.

Memorial contributions may be made in Jean’s memory to the Chester County SPCA.
