Obituary

Janette Marie Lister, 61 years old of West Chester, PA passed away Wednesday March 19, 2025 at Riddle Hospital in Media, PA.

Born December 15, 1963 in San Diego, CA she was the daughter of the late Harry Walker Lister and the late Billie Jo Warneka Lister.

Janette grew up in Anaheim, CA during the late 60s and stayed there the majority of her life. Janette attended Loara High School, and later got her associates from Troy University.

Janette was an avid fan of the Anaheim Angels and would regularly attend games throughout her life. She was commonly found in any sort of Angels gear that denoted her love for her team and her city she loved so much.

In her early life, she was a model and was known for her beautiful fair complexion accented by many freckles and her wavy red hair. What made her most happy for the majority of her life was when she worked as a bartender from her late 20s until about her early 50s where she made a name for herself in her attention to detail, friendly, if somewhat maternal service, and no-nonsense attitude. Later on, Janette transitioned to concessions at the Honda Center where she grew to love the Anaheim Ducks as well.

Janette enjoyed classic rock, blues, and soul music. Her all time favorite band was Pacific Gas & Electric, where her long time friend Charles Edward Allen, the lead singer, would regularly use Janette’s vibrant spirit and tenacious capacity to love as a muse for his music.

Janette was also a mother to a son, Charles, who she would frequently say was her greatest accomplishment and did her absolute best to instill all of the love and selflessness of herself into him.

Janette was truly a one-of-a-kind woman and friend to all who knew her. Her thoughtfulness, tender heart, and motherly attitude to all, including those senior to her, was unmistakably benevolent and truly a gift from God. Also heavily attributed to her was her quirky gift of gab which all who knew her can attest to.

She is survived by her son, Charles Michael Lister, brother James Lister, sister, Jo Dee Ann (David) Preston, brother, John (Lisa) Lister of West Chester, PA and her best friends, Shawndora Kaley, Deborah Morton and Dawn Roberti.
