JANET C. WILSON

January 3, 1932 – May 15, 2020

Janet C. Wilson residing at Simpson Meadows, Downingtown, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully at the Penn Medicine Hospice in West Chester on May 15th.  She was 88 years old.

Janet was born in Drexel Hill, PA to Charles and Ellen Cummings.  She graduated from Upper Darby H.S. and was the widow of Robert Wilson (2001).  After H.S. Janet enjoyed working as a Receptionist at Hershey’s Mill and Lamb, Windle, McErlane Law Firm.  She also enjoyed working at Chester County Voter Services before retiring and then in her spare time, Janet loved volunteering her time to help as a reading mentor for 2nd grade at Bradford Heights Elementary School.

Janet is survived by her sister, Lois Wigmore.  She also leaves behind her daughter, Susan Wilson, son, Chuck Wilson (Pam), son, Doug Wilson (Michele), and her daughter, Nancy Wilson.  Bob and Janet took great pride and joy in their family and Janet loved spending time celebrating with their eight grandchildren as well as their eight great-grandchildren.  Janet also leaves behind many friends.   

Janet always had a bright and original personality and was known to speak from an unshaken strength that she carried and inspired friends and family with often.  She touched many lives with her generosity and passion for life.  Janet will always be remembered as someone who loved her friends and family unconditionally. 

Private services will be held for Janet’s family at a later date.
