James Mason Rump

James Rump passed away on July 25, 2022. Jim was born on May 7, 1956 in West Chester and graduated from Henderson High School in 1974. He earned an Associate Degree from Wesley College and also attended George Washington University. Jim was a master plumber for over 40 years, owning his own business serving residential and commercial customers.

Jim was predeceased by his parents Ellis S. Rump Jr. and Anne Mason Rump, and his brother Samuel Rump.

He is survived by sister Cynthia Kelsey (Michael) of Wilmington DE and their daughters Anne Foster (Dane) and Elizabeth Kelsey; sister Nancy Geryk (Scott) of Philadelphia PA: nephew Mason Rump (Courtney) and their daughter Harper of Kirkwood PA; niece Adelaide Rockwell (Jeff) and their daughter Gracelyn of State College PA; and cousin Anne Scott (Wade) of Wilmington DE and her children Read Scott and Charles Scott (Britney) and their daughter Parker.

Jim was a warm, loving person who brightened the lives of his many friends and family. No one who knew Jim will forget his hearty laughter, his positive spirit, and his generosity. He will be sorely missed at family holidays, where his cooking skills and story telling added so much to the celebrations. Jim will be remembered as a great friend and human being.

There will be a celebration of Jim’s life at 11:00 am on Monday, August 1, 2022 at DellaVecchia, Reilly, Smith & Boyd Funeral Home, 410 N. Church St. West Chester, PA 19380.
