Helen Rose Tidd

Helen Rose Tidd, 77 of West Chester, PA passed away Sunday, January 26, 2020 at her home in West Chester.

She was the wife of the late Richard William Tidd Sr.

Born September 18, 1942 in Philadelphia, PA she was the daughter of the late Alfred Szalwinski and the late Helen (Dehel) Szalwinski.

Helen graduated from John W. Hallahan Catholic Girls High School in Philadelphia.

She had worked as an Executive Assistant and Facilities Manager for QVC, and previously as a District Manager for Jewel T. and Sav-A-Lot Grocery Stores.

Helen was a member of SS. Peter & Paul Church in West Chester.

Her joy in life was spending time with her grandchildren, Sarah Joseph (Chris), Jonathan Rhodes (Kym), Andrew and Christina Barnes, Luke and Megan Wilson and Ashley and Hailey Tidd.  She loved being “Gigi” to her great granddaughters Maesie and Isla Joseph.

She enjoyed bingo and the casinos.  In the past, she was a league bowler and a Nintendo Atari player.

Helen is survived by her children, Donna McGreevy (Bill), Patty Barnes (Paul), Stacy Wilson (Steve), Phillip Tidd (Dawn) and a son-in-law David Tidd-Lucas.  

She was preceded in death by her son Richard William Tidd-Lucas Jr.

Relatives and Friends are invited to her visitation on Saturday, February 1, 2020 from 9:30 am - 10:15 am at SS Peter & Paul Church, 1325 Boot Rd. West Chester, PA 19380; followed by her Funeral Mass at 10:30 am.

Interment will be private.
