Georgia Grab Obituary

Georgia Reagan Grab, 23, of West Chester, PA passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her mom, dad, two brothers, sister in law, and two best friends; after a hard fought battle against Cholangiocarcinoma.

She was born on August 21,1997 in West Chester, the daughter of the most incredible (and incorrigible, if you were to ask Georgia) parents you can imagine Steve and Laurie (Smith) Grab.

Georgia attended St. Agnes for grade school and Henderson for high school where she participated in a few different sports, ending her athletic career on the school’s dive team senior year. She later graduated from the University of Delaware Class of 2020 earning a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a Neuroscience minor, all the while working at Upper Bay Counseling and Support as a Residential Behavioral Assistant.

After graduation, even while enduring treatments and fighting cancer like the warrior she was, she worked on her Master’s degree at Capella University in order to achieve her dream to become a clinical psychologist specifically for young adults who suffer from mental illness.

She is survived by her dog Ruby (aka RuRu who was a pretty immediate foster fail); parents Steve and Laurie; her brothers Stash Grab (her Confirmation sponsor, much to Georgia’s chagrin since he began taking the job very seriously after remembering his title last year) and Charlie Grab (her go to adventure partner for impromptu road trips, tattoos, screamo concerts, and the like); their cat Dusty (aka Mrs. Pidge or The Cat) as well as Hank, the friendly newcomer dog to the family. She also is survived by her maternal grandma, the indomitable Bernice Smith; her Uncle Lloyd, the king of telling jokes; and loving sister-in-law Heather Grab, who is currently carrying Georgia’s niece Riley with an expected debut in August.

Relatives and Friends are invited to her visitation on Friday, May 7, 2021 from 11:00 am - 12:30 pm at St. Agnes Church 233 W. Gay St. West Chester, PA 19380 followed by her Funeral Mass at 12:30. We ask that if you are attending the Funeral Mass, to arrive at the latter end of the visitation.

Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers or food, the family asks that you either adopt a dog or cat in Georgia’s memory, consider a donation to the Brandywine Valley SPCA in her name, or a donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital for childhood cancer.

For donations, please see links below. These were all causes Georgia was a champion for. The family asks that you send a little email with any type of information about the good deed done in her memory to GeorgiasGivingGroupies@gmail.com
