George Patrick Fox Jr., 79, of Bonita Springs, FL and West Chester, PA passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 10, 2022.
Born on June 27, 1942 in Queens, NY he was the son of the late George P. Fox Sr. and Ruth LeViness Fox, brother to Nancy Fox, and predeceased by his sisters Virginia Tausch and Kathleen Vollmer.
Beloved father and grandfather, George is survived by Lorrie his adoring wife of 56 years, his son Patrick and daughter-in-law Anne Marie, his daughter Suzanne and son-in-law Colin Hueston, and his grandchildren Georgia Fox, Molly Hueston, Chelsea Fox, and Colin Hueston Jr., as well as his many nieces and nephews and countless loyal friends.
Quick to laugh, George shared his loving and faithful spirit with his family and his many friends. His greatest joy was spending time with his four grandchildren.
George graduated from Pennsylvania Military College (PMC) with an engineering degree. While attending PMC, he was a proud member of the Q5 Drill Team. He later earned his master’s degree from New York University.
George served as a Captain in the U.S. Army stationed in Fort Bragg, NC. Following his service, he returned to Stony Brook, New York where he raised his family and pursued his career.
George had a long and successful career as a Senior Executive in the defense industry. Recognized for his business acumen and leadership, George greatly enjoyed collaborating with his co-workers and the many colleagues that he mentored throughout his career.
Charitable in his nature, George regularly engaged and gave of himself in all of the communities where he lived. He served on numerous boards and lent his services to many charitable and civic organizations throughout his life, including the United Way and Stony Brook University.
Among his many hobbies and passions George loved photography, boating, horseback riding, sports cars, art, travel, his dinner parties, St Patrick’s Day celebrations, and golf.
George lived in Pelican Landing in Bonita Springs, FL for the past 14 years where he was an enthusiastic golfer and a great friend to all.
He is remembered for his kindness, smile, humor, and generosity of spirit and will be greatly missed.
Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 from 10:00 am - 11:00 am at the SS. Peter & Paul Church 1325 E. Boot Rd. West Chester, PA 19380, followed by his Funeral Mass at 11:00 am. Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery.
A celebration of life will be held in Florida at a later date.
