Frederick Kaiser Obituary

Frederick W. Kaiser, 91, of West Chester, passed away surrounded by his loving family on February 15, 2018, of a worn out, much used, love filled heart.

He was the beloved husband of the love of his life Christel F. Kaiser, with whom he shared 32 years of marriage.

Although he was born in Philadelphia, PA, to the late Frederick Kaiser and Hilde (Freisinger) Bottjer, he was raised in Germany where he lived and served in WWII during the early part of his life. He later returned to the states where he proudly served and retired from the U.S Army after 35 years. He was part of the National Guard, 111th Infantry regiment of West Chester, and served a lot of his time in the service in Indiantown Gap. Considered a “Lifer” in the Guard, Frederick served as First Sergeant in the 111th for 18 Years. He was the first and only proud recipient to receive the Solider of the Year award twice; in 1969 and in 1981.

Frederick is survived by his children: Ingrid Benedict (David); Linda Meier (Jeff); Arthur Trettin (Cristin); Robert Trettin (Jackie); Rick Kaiser (Lisa); Heidi Dowlin (Greg); 16 Grandchildren: Jordan Benedict, Derek Benedict, Evan Benedict, Zach Meier (Amanda), Jesse (Meier) Seibert (Eric), Sarah (Trettin) Robinson (Mike), Anna (Trettin) Valle (Rick), Sam Trettin (Rachel), Ben Trettin (Tara), Dan Trettin, Justin Kiper, Josie Kiper, Sean Wolhar, Sophie Kaiser, Makenzie Dowlin; Great Grandchildren: Laila Seibert, Emma Seibert, June Robinson, Grace Robinson, Silas Trettin, Thomas Trettin.  Also survived by his brother Walter (Dot), and 3 sisters- in- law, Hannelore Greven, Rosemary Lohse and Anneliese Foecker & their families.

He was predeceased by his grandson Julian Kiper.

To all that knew him, he was a very humble man who was highly respected, that didn’t take shit from anyone, which meant that “the honeymoon was over.” To his military family, he was known to kick ass and take names while also being known as a loving husband, father, and grandfather by all.

Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation from 6-8PM on Monday, February 19, 2018 at the DellaVecchia, Reilly, Smith & Boyd Funeral Home, Inc. 410 N. Church St. West Chester, PA 19380; 610-696-1181, www.DellaFH.com.
