Franklin Roosevelt Marshall passed away peacefully on Saturday March 21, 2026, at the age of 92.
Born on May 24, 1933, in West Chester to Edward Moses Marshall and Grace Vinonia Sweigart Marshall.
He was the beloved husband of Patricia Ann Marshall, with whom he shared 40 years filled with love, devotion and unwavering support. They shared two children, John C. Connolly, IV (Kelly), and Mark E. Connolly.
Being a self-employed entrepreneur, Franklin and his brother owned and operated a successful sawmill business in Northbrook, PA.
He graduated from Unionville High School in 1951, after which he served in the U.S. Army as a Military Police Officer. Franklin served 63 years on the Board of Directors of the Bradford Cemetery from 1963-2026 in various positions including, Superintendent, President and President Emeritus. He was a member of the Pine Valley Hunting Club for 75 years.
In addition to his wife and children, Franklin also survived by his nieces and nephew, Sonia (Jeffrey), Eileen (Rob), Holly (Howard) and Ed.
His life was a testament to the values of service, faith and community. His legacy will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be resting in the very soil his family purchased to create the cemetery. God take care of him.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Quaker Graveside Service 11am Wednesday March 25, 2026, at the Bradford Cemetery, Marshallton PA.
