Frank C. Delphais, 80, of West Chester, PA, passed away on Thursday, June 19, 2025, after a courageous battle with ALS.
He was the husband of the late Rebecca (Simpson) Delphais. They married on New Year’s Eve, 1966, and shared 58 devoted years of marriage until her passing just twelve weeks earlier, in March 2025.
Born on April 7, 1945, to the late Robert J. Delphais and Helen (Hodges) Delphais, he was a lifelong resident of West Chester.
Frank was a longtime member of Saint Agnes Parish and a 1963 graduate of Bishop Shanahan High School. After graduating, he proudly served in the U.S. Navy, spending his time stateside in the Aleutian Islands and in California, where he worked aboard the USS Oriskany while it was docked at the naval shipyard in San Francisco.
Upon returning home, Frank held several jobs before joining AmeriGas, where he worked as a truck driver for many years until his retirement.
A classic car enthusiast, Frank loved attending car shows and spending time tinkering in his garage, especially on his prized 1955 Chevy. Over the years, he bought, sold, and traded hundreds of cars, trucks, and motorcycles, and also held a notary license and Pennsylvania state inspection license.
He almost always started his morning with a cup of coffee and a laugh with his friends at the DK Diner, a routine that continued through his final days.
Frank is survived by his sons, Frank C. Delphais Jr. (Pamela) and Michael A. Delphais; and by his cherished grandsons, Zachary and Matthew Delphais. He is also survived by his siblings: Robert E. Delphais, Cornelia Johnson (Charles), Margaret Roderer (Ted), Charlotte Gibbons (James), and John Delphais (Lisa); as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents; beloved wife Becky; brother Walter Delphais; and daughter-in-law Eileen Gallagher Delphais.
Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on Friday, June 27, 2025 from 9:00 AM - 9:45 AM at DellaVecchia, Reilly, Smith & Boyd Funeral Home, Inc. 410 North Church Street West Chester, PA 19380, followed by his Funeral Service at 10:00 am.
