Francis "Frank" Duranza

Francis “Frank” Duranza of West Chester passed away on Sunday, February 8, 2026 at his home at the age of 75.

Francis was born in Havana, Cuba in 1950 and moved with his family to the United States during his childhood. Having graduated with a B.S. in Chemistry from SUNY at Albany and an M.S. in Chemistry and Computer Software from McMaster University in Hamilton (Ontario, Canada), Francis utilized his fields of study as a Software Design Engineer for Hewlett Packard and its spin-off company Agilent Technologies in Wilmington, Delaware.

In his free time, Francis enjoyed biking, running, swimming in the Brandywine River, and taking drone photography throughout Chester County. He loved concocting creations in the kitchen, spending time outdoors, meeting new people, and sharing stories of his youth and “three-hour tours”.  He was dearly devoted to his family who will greatly miss him and his sunny disposition, sense of humor, and loving companionship.

Francis leaves behind a daughter, Christine; a son, Eric; their mother, Sharon; a sister, Ili (Bob) Blair; two nephews, Adam and Ryan Blair; and a brother, Alex Stone. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ana Bango, and his father, Ladislao Duranza.

Services and internment were private.
