Frances M. Bannister

Frances Marie Bannister, age 85, passed away peacefully on May 17th surrounded by her loving family at Maris Grove in Glen Mills, PA.

She was born on February 12, 1938 in Bayonne New Jersey to Francis and Catherine Mahoney. She married her lifetime love, Ronald Leo Bannister in June of 1962 who preceded her in death in 2014.

Fran was a lifelong educator. She graduated from Immaculata College and began her teaching career in Ocean Township NJ. Later in life she was an elementary school teacher at St. Simon and Jude in Westtown, PA and upon a move to Florida finished her career at the Jewish Academy of Orlando.

Fran was a lifelong student as well. Earning her Masters in both Business and Finance later in life at Florida Institute of Technology. Fran always possessed a pursuit of knowledge. Frances loved to travel and spent her years in retirement traveling with her husband and close friends by her side. She was dedicated to her parish throughout the years and was a catechist and volunteer to many.

Fran is survived by her brother William Mahoney (Susan), Sister in-law Suzanne Cusick, sons Ronald Leo Bannister Jr. (Carol) and their children Christina, Domenic, Kyle and Colin; Christopher Francis Bannister (Susy), and their children Maya and Chris; Joseph Raiker and his children Joseph Jr. , Jonathan, Tabitha and Kourtney; and daughter Tricia Bannister Pané (Vincent) and their children Ryan, Alexandra and Dylan. Fran was truly a selfless and devoted wife and mother.

Besides her spouse Ronald, she is preceded in death by her parents Francis and Catherine Mahoney and sister, Sr. Patricia Mahoney.

Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation on Friday, July 7, 2023 from 10:00 am - 10:45 am at St. Joseph Church 322 Manor Ave. Downingtown, PA 19335, followed by her Funeral Mass at 11:00 am.

Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery West Chester PA.
