Mrs. Florence A. Novinskie (nee Shehulskie), age 98, currently residing in West Chester, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully at home with family by her side, on Friday, February 5, 2021. She was the loving wife for 59 years of John A. Novinskie, Sr. Born on June 19, 1922 in Shamokin, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Theadora (Orzechowskie) Shehulskie.
Mrs. Novinskie was a graduate of Coal Township High School in the Class of 1940. She married her beloved husband John on January 31, 1942. Florence dedicated much of her life raising her three children and assisted in their various school activities. She was a life-long member of Saint Stanislaus / Mother Cabrini Catholic Church in Shamokin and was an active volunteer in many parish functions. Mrs. Novinskie participated in and served as an officer for the Ladies Auxiliary of several social and fraternal organizations in the area. After many years of service, she retired from the Arrow Shirt Company when it was relocated out of State. Throughout her life, Florence enjoyed music, dancing with her husband, theater productions, traveling and crocheting.
Mrs. Novinskie is survived by her children: Adrienne Haile and husband Edward of Fort Meyers, Fl, John A. Novinskie, Jr. (Rita Short deceased) of Haddonfield, NJ and Gary J. Novinskie (Mary Keblish deceased) of West Chester, PA. She also survived by grandchildren: Edward Haile (Claire), Rebecca (Haile) Ermlich Timothy), Alyssa (Haile) Lytle (John), Kathleen (Novinskie) Hiles, Meghann Novinskie, Emily (Novinskie Cahill ( Ryan), Julia (Novinskie) Tewey (Brendan), Christine Novinskie-Olbrich (Eric), Melissa (Novinskie) Baxter (Aaron) and Nicholas J. Novinskie. As well as by great grandchildren: William Haile, Joseph Haile, Eva Ermlich, Henry Ermlich, Daphne Wright, Johnny Cahill, Abigail Cahill, Liam Tewey, Alexander Olbrich, Ellison Baxter, Andrew Baxter and Mary Baxter.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Novinskie was preceded in death by her brother Daniel Shehulskie and sister Barbara Ann (Shehulskie) Agin (George deceased).
Relatives and Friends are invited to her visitation on Saturday, March 13, 2021 from 11:30 am - 12:15 pm at St. Agnes Church 233 W. Following the Mass of Christian Burial, Mrs. Novinskie will be transported to her hometown of Coal Township / Shamokin, PA for a private interment at Transfiguration Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution can be made in memory of Florence to Mother Cabrini Church, 214 North Shamokin Street, Shamokin, PA 17872.
