Eugene "Gene" Finegan

Eugene “Gene” E. Finegan, 98 of West Chester, PA passed away Thursday May 15, 2025 at the Tel Hai Retirement Community in Honey Brook.

He was the husband of Barbara Carnathan Finegan.

Gene was born in his family’s home at 517 N. New Street and was the son of the late John J. Finegan and the late Mary Dunleavy Finegan. He was the last of his nine siblings.

Living in West Chester all his life he was educated at the St. Agnes Parochial School, St. Agnes High School and a lifelong member of St. Agnes Church. Gene went on to be a mechanic for 40 years at the Matlack Trucking Company.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Eleanor Ryan of Elkton MD, Julie Finegan of Takoma Park, MD and Paul J. Finegan of Aston, PA.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his nine siblings.

Relatives and friends are invited to his Funeral Mass 10am on Thursday May 22, 2205, at the St. Agnes Church 233 West Gay Street West Chester: followed by his interment at St. Agnes Cemetery West Chester PA.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the St. Agnes Church at the above address.
