Elizabeth R. May

Elizabeth "Betty" R. May died Tuesday May 3, 2022 at the age of 85 years old

She was the beloved wife, for 55 years, of the late Charles Nicholas May Sr.

Born April 4, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Frank Remsing Sr. and the late Margaret Higson Remsing. Betty grew up in Philadelphia, where she spent most of her life, before moving to West Chester. 

Her favorite escape from city life was taking long drives through the countryside of Lancaster with her one true love. Betty's pride and joy, first and foremost, was her family. She loved hosting card nights, holidays, and weekly family dinners where she always prepared a delicious feast followed by her world famous desserts; strawberry shortcake, Jewish apple cake & pounds of Christmas cookies, to name a few. When Betty wasn't in the kitchen she could be found outside planting and tending to her garden. Just like her flowers Betty was able to make everything in life bloom.

She was the devoted mother of Charles N. May, Jr. (Kimberly), Linda E. Adler (Thomas), and the late Lori Ann May; loving grandmother of Brittany May, Nicole Gill (Christopher Michael), Chelsea May, Hailey Adler (Matthew), Torie Adler, and great-grandson, Junior Gill; sister of Richard Remsing, Frank Remsing, Barbara May, and Bertha "Bert" Roach; and preceded in death by siblings Margaret Tracy, Fred Remsing, and Frances "Franny" Spence. 

Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation on Saturday May 28, 2022, from 10 – 10:45am  at the DellaVecchia, Reilly, Smith & Boyd Funeral Home, Inc. 410 North Church St. West Chester, PA 19380 610-696-1181, www.DellaFH.com followed by her Memorial Service at 11am. Interment will be private
