Elena Perri, 81, of Myrtle Beach, passed away Wednesday, February 4, 2026. She was pre-deceased by her parents, Damian and Helen Perri. Born October 25, 1944 in Philadelphia, PA, she attended grade school at St. Rita of Cascia and graduated from St. Maria Goretti High School in 1962 after which she attained a degree in Mortuary Science from Eckels College and joined her Father's business.
In the late 1970's when the Casino era began in southern New Jersey, she changed careers and worked in the gambling industry for almost 30 years. Elena moved to Myrtle Beach in 2006 and enjoyed playing golf and making more new friends everywhere she went and she even started a pet sitting business so she could get her "pet fix".
Elena's giving spirit and caring nature was evident to everyone who knew her. Having a large network of friends and family that she cared for deeply and the rise of social media made it easy to stay in touch. She was devoted to her faith which shone through in her relationships. Her passions included animals, her beloved Bassett Hounds, Roulette, Madonna, Bette and her "adopted" cats, Sunny, Tang, Tommy, Saki, dear sweet Tammy and part of her heart, Little Bit. She was most passionate about cars, especially her 1972 Corvette...she truly loved that car.
Survived by her beloved sister, Maria Renkey, stepdaughter Colleen McIlroy of California, Godson, Michael DellaVecchia and a multitude of loving cousins and friends.
Relatives and Friends are invited to her visitation on Saturday April 18, 2026 from 10am-12 pm at the Pennsylvania Burial Company 1327-31 S. Broad Street Philadelphia, PA 19147, followed by her graveside service at Holy Cross Cemetery, Yeadon PA.
Donations in lieu of flowers in memory of Elena may be sent to an animal rescue of your choice.
