Obituary

Edward C. Weiss, 83, of West Chester, PA, passed away on Thursday January 2, 2025, at Park Lane Post Acute in West Chester, surrounded by the love of his family after a long, hard fought battle with cancer.

He was the husband of Kathleen M. (Holly) Weiss for almost 60 years.

Born September 27, 1941 in Monroe, MI, he was the son of the late John C. Weiss and the late Loretta (Kronsperger) Weiss.

Ed grew up in Monroe and graduated from Monroe Catholic Central High School. He served in the US Navy stationed in Norfolk, VA and Kodiak, AK.

He spent most of his career in the banking industry and retired from First National Bank of Chester County after 25 years in 2006.

Ed was a longtime member and Treasurer of the West Goshen Lions Club.

Ed was an avid golfer and fisherman, especially ice fishing. He was also a good bowler and enjoyed his time spent in numerous bowling leagues over the years. He was a big sports fan who never missed a Phillies or Eagles game.

In addition to his wife, he is greatly missed by his daughters Susan Weiss and Paula (Maurice) Galeano, grandsons Kyle Galeano and Luke Galeano, brothers Ronald (Carol) Weiss and Larry (Theresa) Weiss, and sisters Linda (Dennis) James and Laura Weiss.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers Harold Weiss and John Weiss, and sister Judy Weiss.

Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on Thursday, January 9, 2025, from 10:00 am – 10:45am at the St. Agnes Church 233 W. Gay St. West Chester, PA 19380 followed by his Funeral Mass at 11am. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the West Goshen Lions Club.
