Obituary

Edward J. Pacitti, age 91, of West Chester, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 19, 2026, surrounded by his loving family and sustained by his faith in God.

Edward was the devoted husband of the love of his life, the late Kathleen Pacitti (née Sperr). Their marriage was a true partnership rooted in love, faith, and family, and he now rejoices in being reunited with her in eternal peace.

Born on April 10, 1934, in Ardmore, Pennsylvania, Edward was the son of the late Anthony Pacitti and Antionette Pacitti (née DeCroce), and the beloved younger brother of the late Emil Pacitti. He was raised in Ardmore and graduated from Haverford High School. Edward proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps, a service he viewed as both an honor and a calling.

Edward devoted 39 years of faithful service to Bell of Pennsylvania, beginning as a coin box collector and advancing through dedication and perseverance to the role of Risk Manager. Along the way, he earned an Associate Degree from the University of Pennsylvania. Following his retirement, Edward continued to serve others by founding Vide-O-Cassions, where he joyfully preserved life’s most meaningful moments by videotaping weddings and special celebrations.

A man of deep faith and generous spirit, Edward was an active and devoted volunteer at his church and throughout his community. He gave selflessly of his time to the Manoa Fire Company, the Westgate Hills Civic Association, and numerous local organizations. For many years, he was affectionately known as “Mr. Fourth of July,” organizing community celebrations, Easter egg hunts, Santa visits, and proudly participating in the Mummers Parade. His life reflected his belief in bringing people together and spreading joy.

Edward was a loving father and a devoted grandfather who treasured attending his grandchildren’s sporting events, concerts, and recitals. His presence was a steady reminder of God’s love expressed through kindness, encouragement, and unwavering support.

Edward lived his life with gratitude and joy, always ready with a smile, a kind word, and a helping hand. He truly enjoyed time with family, traveling, celebrating life’s milestones, and capturing memories to be shared for generations. His faith guided his life and brought comfort to him and those around him.

Edward is survived by his beloved children: Kathleen Wileczek (Mark), Ted Pacitti (Suzanne), Patti Cattin (Andy), Beth Garahan (John), Michael Pacitti, and Kim Calabria (Glen); thirteen grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren, who were among his greatest blessings.

In addition to his wife Kathleen, Edward was preceded in death by his parents and his brother.

Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. at SS. Simon & Jude Church, 8 Cavanaugh Court, West Chester, PA 19382, followed by his Funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m.
