Dolores "Dee" Jarrett Obituary

Dolores "Dee" E. Jarrett, 83 of Unionville, PA passed away peacefully on March 21, 2020 at Penn Medicine Hospice of Chester County.

She was the wife of Richard J. Jarrett, with whom she shared 49 years of marriage.

Born January 12, 1937 in Parryville, PA she was the daughter of the late Robert Fink and the late Arlene Hibbler Fink.

Dee, along with one sister and three brothers, was raised in The Methodist Home for Children at 4300 Monument Rd. in Philadelphia (now called Methodist Services) from elementary school through high school. She was a 1954 graduate of Overbrook High School in Philadelphia, PA.

After graduating high school, Dee moved to the West Chester area and worked as an executive secretary for over 40 years at Whitford Worldwide Company, which was first established in West Chester, PA and is now currently headquartered in Elverson, PA. Dee’s professionalism, optimism and commitment to the success of Whitford Worldwide, combined with the leadership and generosity of the company’s founder, Dave Willis, allowed Dee to enjoy a comfortable retirement and share her generosity with her children and grandchildren.

Dee was a volunteer at the Food Bank in Kennett Square, PA.

She enjoyed the many play dates with her great grandchildren, baking with them and spoiling them, and any time spent with her Grandchildren. Most of Dee’s happiness came from doing for others. She loved to bake and cook for others, and provided countless care packages to family, friends and neighbors. Dee could be counted on to meet friends for coffee or lunch, to invite you over to enjoy life and friendship, or simply to consistently stay in touch by phone call or email. She was deeply loved by all whose lives she touched for her generous and compassionate spirit. Dee was always cooking something for someone else.

She is survived by her son, Michael Murphy and his wife Susan, daughter, Lynn (Murphy) Flynn; grandchildren, Kelly, Lisa, Jake & Katie; great-grandchildren Olivia, Ava, Briana, Michael and Ryan; as well as her brothers Richard Fink, Gary Fink, Joe Fink and sisters Marion Gombert and Gail Fink Shafer. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Robert Fink, Carl Fink and Wayne Fink.

Services and interment will be private due to current guidelines surrounding the Coronavirus. Dee’s service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 28 and will be available for viewing by her extended family and friends via live streaming. Live streaming details will be posted on the DellaVecchia, Reilly, Smith & Boyd Funeral Home, Inc. website www.DellaFH.com as well as on family members' Facebook pages.
