Obituary

Diane Marie DiSerafino, 72 years of age, passed peacefully the afternoon of July 23rd, 2024 in the comfort of her home in West Chester, PA.

Diane was born on March 31st, 1952 in West Chester, PA to the late Anne and William DiSerafino. As an only child, she was an exceptionally devoted daughter, mother, and friend known for her fun-loving spirit, warm demeanor, and genuine care for others. Growing up, she could often be found spending time with her cousins with whom she shared a special bond, expressing herself through her many artistic talents, and taking care of animals on the farm upon which her and her parents lived.

After graduating from Kutztown University with a degree in Elementary Education, Diane went on to serve as an x-ray technician and later, an orthodontic assistant in Hershey, Pennsylvania where she raised her three children, Camille, Adam, and Elizabeth. Diane and her kids spent many summers and weekends at her parent’s home in West Chester, PA, doing yard work, gardening, enjoying nature, and spending time with extended family.

Despite being diagnosed with a benign brain tumor in 1999 and from there, enduring a steady stream of health complications, Diane lived a life full of love and selfless generosity for all those who crossed her path. She was highly involved in her children’s school and sporting activities and could always be counted on to bring snacks to soccer tournaments, paint scenery for dance recitals, and to welcome new parents and children to the community. She is fondly remembered for the support, encouragement, and acceptance she offered to every child in addition to her own and for her unconditional friendship to many.

In 2007, Diane suffered a life-altering stroke as a result of an operation to remove her brain tumor. She spent most of her remaining 17 years being cared for by her devoted mother at the family’s home in West Chester, PA. There she enjoyed many visits from family and friends, the comforting transitions of the seasons through her bedroom window, and 24/7 coverage of world events from her favorite news channel. During this time, she was often seen sporting her iconic sunglasses and eccentric socks.

Diane is survived by her daughters Camille Rosetty and Elizabeth West, her son, Adam Rosetty, and her grandson, Rowan West.

At Diane’s request, the family will hold a private burial amongst her children.

A personal note from her children: We would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who helped Diane and our family over the years. Family members, friends, acquaintances, employers, caregivers, doctors, nurses, social workers and more. It took a village and ours always showed up. We wouldn’t be here today without your generous love and support. She is finally free.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the National Brain Tumor Society
