Diana Marie Simmons, 74, of Downingtown, PA passed away Wednesday June 4, 2025 at the Chester County Hospital in West Chester.
Born July 15, 1950, in West Chester, PA, she was the daughter of the late Charles M. Walton and the late Mary "Marie" Naples Walton.
Diana grew up in West Chester, PA and graduated from Bishop Shanahan High School. She was a devoted member of Our Lady of Consolation Church in Parkesburg, Pa.
Diana held many professional positions throughout her life, including an administrative role with Catholic Leadership Institute. She discovered her talent for real estate later in life, most recently working as a realtor with NextHome Brandywine where she was a strong advocate for single mothers and a diligent propionate of equal housing opportunities for everyone. She treated the clients she worked with less like business transactions and more like friends. She loved meeting new people, and her true passion was helping others.
“Dee” or “Di” as she was known to friends and family, really enjoyed listening to live music, being by the water and dancing whenever she got the chance. If music was in her heart; dancing was in her soul. She had a fondness for the Victorian Era, and her wardrobe was one that reflected her flair, personality and was known to always be adorned with a matching hat to finish the look. In her younger years, she enjoyed sewing, cooking and writing poetry. Most important to her, she was a devoted and proud grandmother and great-grandmother who cherished spending time with her grandchildren and telling everyone about their many talents, accomplishments and diversities.
She is survived by her daughters, Dina R. DePedro, Tara M. (Daniel) Kerrigan, Jennifer A. Simmons, Amanda L. (Peter) Soler, 14 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, and siblings, Charles Walton, Roxanne Wax, and Michelle Imburgia. She was preceded in death by brother, Gary Peter Walton.
