It is with great sadness that the family of David S. Garrison announce his passing on September 23, 2024. He died peacefully with loved ones at his side.
Dave was born in Hamilton, Ohio. He was the son of the late Sanford and Mary Lou (Ellis) Garrison. He grew up in Folsom, PA, and attended Ridley Township High School. After graduating high school in 1966, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and, upon honorable discharge, he attended Penn State University.
He is survived by his devoted wife of thirty years, Laura, his loving daughter, Nicole (Daniel Loughry) Garrison and stepsons Scott (Meghan) Timmes, Jonathan (Lori) Timmes and Christopher Timmes. He was a devoted Grampy/Pop Pop to five wonderful grandchildren, Kristin, Danny, Katelyn, Madison and Avery. Dave had three siblings, sisters Sheila De Sipio, Ellisa Gunlefinger (predeceased), brother Daniel Garrison (predeceased) and brother-in-law, Gary Ravielli. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Dave had a distinguished, lifelong career in the polymer plastics industry. He was Manager of PTFE Applications and Processing for Solvey Solexis and through his expertise, has three corporate patents to his credit. He thoroughly loved his work and colleagues found him to be knowledgeable, fair minded and a pleasure to be around.
In addition to being active in the Methodist church, Dave loved vacationing in Hilton Head and exploring the low country of South Carolina, music (especially the Beatles), putting cd’s together, classic cars, Philly sports, Penn State football and most of all, spending time with family.
Dave’s family and friends remember him as a man of great integrity and warmth. His kindness, generosity, sense of humor and easy-going manner touched all who knew him. He will be greatly missed.
Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on Monday, October 7, 2024 from 10:00 am - 10:45 am at DellaVecchia, Reilly, Smith & Boyd Funeral Home, Inc. 410 North Church Street West Chester, PA 19380, followed by his Funeral Service at 11:00 am
Interment will be private.
