Obituary

We celebrate the life of a man who was known for his warm spirit and generous heart, David Louis Bruni, affectionately known as Dave “Squat” to his friends and loved ones. He was born on the first day of 1953 in West Chester, Pennsylvania, where he also peacefully passed away on December 14, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Dave's early life in West Chester set the stage for a lifetime of dedication and service. After graduating from Salesianum High School in 1970, he joined the Navy Air Force, serving his country with honor until his discharge in 1974. His commitment to precision and excellence continued in his civilian life, where he worked as a skilled machinist for many years.

Dave's passion for the blues was unmatched, and he found great joy in attending concerts and sharing his love for music with others. He was also an avid enthusiast of the shooting range, enjoying the discipline and skill it required. His collection of guns was a point of pride, and he took pleasure in maintaining and discussing them with fellow enthusiasts.

Family was the core of Dave's world. He was a devoted son to his parents, Louis “Squak” F. Bruni and Jean M. Bruni (D’Annunzio), a caring brother to his sister Jeannie Henderson (Bruni), and a loving father to his son, Zachary L. Bruni. Dave adored all animals, especially his dogs. His presence in their lives was a source of strength and joy, and the memories they created together will be cherished forever.

David Louis Bruni lived a life marked by kindness, a strong sense of duty, and a profound ability to connect with those around him. Though he has left this world, the legacy of his character and the impact of his love will continue to be felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Dave "Squat" Bruni will be dearly missed, but his story is one of a life well-lived, and for that, we can all find solace.
