Daniel Joseph Scully, “Scull,” age 63, of West Chester, PA passed away on July 5, 2026.
Born December 19, 1962, in Yeadon, PA, Dan was the beloved son of the late James Anthony and Sara Ann Scully.
Dan is survived by his wife of 33 years, Jill Scully (Thiemann), as well as his children, Kasey Crenny (Brian Crenny), Jake Scully, Sydney Scully, and Cole Scully. He was predeceased by his cherished daughter Karly Brenna Scully (12/06/1995 – 07/25/2015).
Family meant everything to Dan and all that he did was for them. He adored his wife, Jill and treasured every moment of the life they built together. Dan cared for his children in a selfless way always showing them unconditional love, strength and endless support.
He shared his passion for sports with his family, whether it was watching Philly sports on TV, playing backyard lacrosse, or ping pong on the porch. From ice hockey rinks to turf fields, Dan spent countless hours on the sidelines cheering on his children.
Dan was an accomplished business owner starting his career from the ground up. He dedicated his life’s work to his company, The SafetyHouse. Dan often included his family in business adventures such as filling orders, sweeping floors, or website graphics. Most importantly he made sure his family and friends were stocked with the latest SafetyHouse gear. He was admired by many in the field for his commitment and generosity.
Dan spent his free time with his family and friends at the Jersey Shore, where he enjoyed watching the sunrise each morning. He often hiked in the Shenandoah Mountains, where he found peace and tranquility with nature. Dan often showed his competitive spirit on the pickleball court where he looked forward to playing (winning) with his friends and family.
With his magnetic personality, Dan lit up every room with his presence. He always had a good joke to tell and could find the humor in any situation. He will be remembered for his witty sayings and endless ideas.
The Scully family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all involved for their continued kindness and support.
Dan will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on Wednesday July 8, 2026, from 9:30-11am at the DellaVecchia, Reilly, Smith & Boyd Funeral Home inc. 410 North Church St. West Chester, PA 610-696-1181, www.DellaFH.com followed by his Memorial Service at the West Chester Friends Meeting 425 N. High Street West Chester.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Penn Medicine Hospice Friends Fund.
