Christine Simpson Odorisio passed away on Saturday May 27, 2023 in West Chester, PA.
Born in Lebanon, PA, she was the daughter of deceased Samuel J. and Margaret (Ogurcak) Simpson. She is also predeceased by her sisters, Anna Mae Casciotti and Margaret Robrecht and brother, Samuel J. Simpson, Jr.
She is survived by Nicholas Odorisio Sr.; sons Nicholas Jr., Mark (Kelly), Vincent; grandsons Mark Jr. (Liz) Andrew (Lauren), Keaton; grand daughter Kylie; great grandsons Nathanial and Niko, and brother, David Simpson.
She attended St. Mary’s Catholic School and Lebanon Catholic High School and was a member of St. Mary’s of the Assumption Church, Lebanon, PA. She is presently a member of St. Agnes Church in West Chester, PA.
She was known for her school spirit plus and artistic ability. Was class officer for 2 years, President of the Youth Club, on the Junior Prom Committee, and Spires yearbook staff, a member of the Sodality for 4 years and Red Cross representative for 3 years and on the girls’ basketball team for 4 years.
After graduating in 1956, she attended the DuPont program at Goldey Beacom School of Business and on completion was employed for 30 years in Polymers Department as Senior Secretary for Research and Development, Administrative Assistant in both Industrial Polymers and Human Resources, and on retirement was working in External Affairs Department as Corporate Special Events Coordinator where she provided support for McDonald’s Championship, Tour DuPont and All- American Tennis Championships. She also continued to work on internal events for Polymers.
After retirement from DuPont, she created yard signs to rent for special occasions, worked part-time for a local post office and business form company. She then began a career at West Chester University in the MBA program as Program Assistant to the Director and retired after 17 years’ service.
She enjoyed oil painting, art classes, vacationing at the hunting camp, boating, beaches, traveling, Broadway shows, yoga, fitness programs, arranging family class reunions, and most of all…..spending time with her family.
Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation, Monday June 5, 2023 from 10-10:45am at the St. Agnes Church, 233 West Gay Street, West Chester, PA. Following by her Funeral Mass at 11am.
Interment will be in the St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Kennett Square, PA.
