Charles William Wynn, 80 Years of West Chester, PA passed away Thursday, August 8th in Exton, PA.
He was born December 16th 1943 in Rural Retreat, VA. He was the son of the late James Wynn and Annabelle Wynn and the brother of the late Charlotte Ann Wynn.
Though born in Virginia, Charles lived most of his life in Pennsylvania. He graduated from Great Valley High School and soon after, was drafted into the United States Army during which time he served as a helicopter crew chief in the Vietnam War. He was a proud Combat Army Veteran who also enjoyed cars, especially his beloved Chevy Corvettes.
He worked for Wyeth Laboratories until his retirement. Once retired, he spent time learning to fly and volunteering at the Helicopter Museum in West Chester. At the museum, Charles would help to rebuild aircraft as well as design and build interactive learning modules.
He is survived by his son, Michael Wynn, daughter, Michelle Wynn (Brent) Vullings and grandchildren, Alexandra, Gabrielle, Olivia, Carressa, Madison and Mason, along with his brother, Rodney (Jill) Wynn, sister, Shirley Spear and partner Marie Hines.
Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on Saturday August 17th 2024, from 10am-10:45am that will be followed by a short ceremony at 11am at DellaVecchia, Reilly, Smith & Boyd Funeral Home located at 410 N Church Street West Chester, PA 19380.
A Private Interment will follow at the Philadelphia Memorial Park located at 124 Phoenixville Pike Malvern, PA 19335.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Helicopter Museum West Chester, PA in Charles’ name.
