Obituary

Catherine R. Giunta, 96, (nee Gringer) of Downingtown, PA passed away peacefully on April 19, 2025.

She was the beloved wife of the late Samuel P. Giunta for over 67 years. She cared deeply for her three daughters, Frances Lisowski (Robert), Kathleen Carter (David deceased) and Jean Farley (Joseph). She spoiled her eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, who were lucky to have her in their lives for so many years.

She is survived by her sister Santa Lang and predeceased by her two brothers, Anthony and Samuel Gringer.

Catherine oversaw the family run business West Chester Fruit and Produce for many years, working alongside her husband Sam. In her retirement years, she enjoyed working at the local Hallmark store.

She always put her family first preparing weekly Sunday dinners for her growing family and cooking feasts that included homemade pasta and Italian wedding soup on holidays and for special occasions. She rented a summer home in Ocean City, NJ for years for her family as well as trying her luck at the Atlantic City casinos. Every season she rooted for the Philadelphia Phillies, a dependable fan.

Catherine appreciated the simple things and did everything she wanted to do in life.

Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation on Thursday, April 24, 2025 from 10:00 to 10:45AM at SS. Philip and James Church, 723 Lincoln Hwy. Exton, PA 19341 followed by her Funeral Mass at 11:00AM.
