Obituary

Caroline Anderson was born on March 30, 1931, at Chester County Hospital.

She was the beloved wife of the late Delos Milton Anderson Sr., a proud U.S. Navy veteran, and the daughter of the late Flora and Bill Naples.

She is survived by her sons, Philip Gerald Anderson and Delos Anderson Jr.; her grandchildren, Michael Gabriel, Chelsea Lauren, Joseph Giovanni Anderson, Luke Thomas, and Brandy Ann Foley; and her sister, Aurelia “Dolly” Garcia and brother, Annabale Naples Jr (Billy).

She was predeceased by her daughter, Cynthia Ann Anderson; her sisters, Marie “Mary” Walton and Philomena Woolfrey; and her brothers, Vincent Naples Sr. and John “Jackie” Naples.

Caroline was educated in both West Chester and New York, where she pursued her passion for music. A classically trained opera singer, she studied music for nine years and performed at the renowned Metropolitan Opera House. She later enjoyed a successful 25-year career with AT&T before retiring.

She was a devoted Christian and a longtime member of St. Agnes Church in West Chester. Caroline found joy in gardening, especially tending to her roses, annuals, and herbs—she truly lived for the beauty and scent of flowers. She adored her grandchildren and was deeply involved in their lives. The holidays were her favorite time of year, and she took pride in hosting and creating lasting memories for her family.

Caroline was the perfect example of a class act citizen—kind, loving, and pure-hearted. She touched many lives with her warmth and grace, and her absence will be deeply felt in the West Chester community.

The burial took place at St. Agnes Cemetery on October 29, 2024. Her grave may be visited on the north side of the cemetery.

In accordance with Caroline’s wishes, her passing was shared with family and friends after her funeral, allowing her loved ones time to mourn privately.

Roses are red,

Violets are blue,

Sugar is sweet,

And so are you.

With love, you’re always in our hearts.

Thanks to all of our family members who helped during this time of melancholy. God bless you.
